Can you drink your cup of tea/coffee as if it were the first time in your life? Moreover, what can you lean from four boys in Mongolia, who see a ping-pong ball for the first time in their lives?
Do you often think, "I wish I knew more about Mindfulness" I am curious, but it looks too complicated, I don"t know where to start.
If you are curious, you're already Mindful!
So here is the thing, if you are curious, you are already mindful, and this is what I want to talk about today. Because curiosity and a beginners mind are the doorways to Mindfulness. And I learned that lesson by watching the movie, Mongolian Ping-pong. It's about a boy in Mongolia, who finds a ping-pong ball floating in the river and he had never seen a ping-pong ball before. And he brings it to his friends, and they are so curious! They inspect the ball using all their senses. They investigate it carefully, touch, smell, even lick it! They also make up stories, trying to trace how the ball got there. Fantasizing the ball may be a treasure that belongs to the spirits of the river.
Mindfulness in one minute per day.
So what can you do now? Dedicate just one minute of your busy day, when you're drinking coffee or tea. And be curious, as if that's the first time in your life. Immerse yourself. Use all your senses, enjoy the smell, the temperature, the taste, the aroma the sensation in your mouth. And as you take a sip. Can you also make up your story? Imagine the sun, water, and soil required to grow this plant, the farm hands who harvested and processed it, and the drivers and supermarket staff who brought it close to you. And as you drink, enjoy the flavor while you notice how your body is being replenished.
Do you want to know more how mindfulness can change your life? Are you stressed, overwhelmed, sleep-deprived, depressed or anxious?
